PRINCIPAL’S DESK
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you all to Taboino Secondary School, The Place to Be. We continue to prepare and mould the young to face the future with certainty, resilience and bliss. Ours is to make their future dreams not only realistic but also assure them a place in the 21st Century cosmos. With zest, zeal and gusto, both our Academic and Support staff shall do their best to make sure the destiny of the ones we have been bequeathed with remain admirable. We will plant and nurture seeds that will spurt forth and grow into dependable beings who will drive the economy of this country into the achieving the Millennium Goals.
We thank the Lord for the far we have come; from a humble background where there were no classrooms in 2014. We are now proudly strutting along with five classrooms, a modern girls’ ablution and a laboratory that is near completion. We sincerely thank the National Government – Constituency Development Fund under the patronage of former MP Hon. Sam Koech for allocating us Money for infrastructure. The County Government too under His Excellency former Governor Hon. Isaac Ruto has constructed one classroom. For all this we give glory to the Lord above. The NG-CDF is currently funding the Laboratory to the tune of Ksh 2.5 million. So far it has allocated Ksh. 1.3 million. Boys’ toilets have also been funded by the NG-CDF with a Ksh. 200,000/= allocation. We have also constructed both the kitchen and Teachers’ ablution block, fenced the boundary, opened up a road to our school, put up a main Gate and also placed sign posts on the roads leading to our school. All these infrastructural developments are geared to positioning the school to tap the best from the community in a bid to be an academic giant in her own right.
As a member of the Mau Link Evaluation Tests Group of Schools (MALIET) we pride ourselves in competing favourably in both academics and co-curricular activities. Young as we still are, we have learnt to stride with utmost stamina that has given us fortitude and an unmatched determination. We believe in the young ones - our students - they are capable. We sincerely thank the teachers for tireless efforts in assisting the students.
Let’s join hands as we build a school that belongs to posterity. As Obama, former USA president rightly put it; we, the people, recognize that we have responsibilities as well as rights; that our destinies are bound together; that a freedom which only asks what's in it for me, a freedom without a commitment to others, a freedom without love or charity or duty or patriotism, is unworthy of our founding ideals, and those who died in their defense.
We therefore need to cherish positive outcomes, we must cherish a promising youth, we must guide them to cross over to the next level. It matters not our family backgrounds, it matters not the religion, creed nor faith or even how we look like. What matters most is the determination, the will power, that inner drive that demands success instead of failure; that demands exemplary results and sets the tempo and the pace in pursuit of achievement.
Our tomorrow must be greater than today at all costs. No matter what we face, no matter how we cry, no matter what comes our way, no matter the obstacles, the future is greater than the past. We will all rise up and take our responsibility in fulfilling our part. Let’s cherish and uphold togetherness, team spirit and a belief in self. To believe is to know that every day has a dawn; every child has a bright future. To believe is to find the strength and the potentialities that lie within us; to encourage one another and team up as one entity as we hold hands and march with our students into the future full of promises, greatness and grandeur. For in Jeremiah 29:11, we are told I know the thoughts that I think towards you so says the Lord; thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Together, we must go for the best.
